Unique Power and Purpose in Prophetic Feeling

Months ago my close friend and coworker blew my mind.  She opened a door of revelation to another purpose and power in Prophetic Feeling.  The very next week I purposely stepped into my gift to help facilitate a group processing and healing. This post will briefly outline what I learned from the experience. First lets quickly summarize the benefits we have considered thus far.

Prophetic Feeling Can Enable You To:

1. Understand the pain of others by feeling the emotions and/ or experiencing the pain of others, then feeling and moving in God's compassion and answer to their pain and struggle.
2. Navigate around language, cultural or age barriers to discern struggle or  pinpoint a problem or issue that needs addressing
3. Understand and discern emotional and spiritual atmospheres
4. Tune more easily into the presence of God and Holy Spirit, purpose of getting into step with what he is doing (this is also a benefit of other spiritual gifts)
5. Be aware and sense activity in spiritual realm for greater collaboration with Kingdom and angelic assignments and/or spiritual warfare

In the last few weeks I have discovered two new abilities and purposes for Prophetic Feeling.  The first came from the help of a dear friend who understands my gifting and is kind enough to share how I sometimes am able to help her.  My friend has explained to me in the past that she has trouble in being disconnected and detached from her own internal process and emotions.  Debriefing after a long day at work she told me that when she shares something with me she is able to overcome her detachment and feel her own emotions more clearly and to be connected with what is going on inside.  She also said when she is with me she is able to feel and have more compassion for the feelings and hidden turmoil of others.  Wow. That just blew me over.  I had no idea.  From what she said, it seems the Prophetic Feeler gifting can awaken other people without the gift, to hidden pain and the turmoil of other people.  Or it could be that people receive a temporary impartation which allows them to reconnect their own emotions. soul and the processes of others.

The second discovery came from two very intense powerful meetings with large groups of people.  In the first meeting we all received sad and grievous news about the death of an infant. The room seemed to tilt sideways in the spiritual realm as the entire group went into shock, denial, grief, anger and more denial.  The reactions were completely appropriate and understandable.  One person managed to pray out of some hope.  Another tried but bottomed out.  I waited and asked the Holy Spirit what he was up to.  I had the sense that people were stuck in their grief and did not know how to feel, or think.  I reminded myself that I was built for moments like this, to be a hawk flying on the winds and turbulence of emotion and heartache. I began to pray following the Holy Spirit. I consciously took the intense feelings of grief up and honored them and then pulled them up into the Kingdom and declared the truth of who Jesus was even in the midst of this loss.  There was a tangible shift. The hopeless feeling broke and people were able to speak again.

In the second intense meeting was a mix of grief and joy as we released and commissioned a pastor and leader in our midst to her new position and calling.  There also I let myself feel the intense and turbulent stream of emotions and heart cries and then stepped into steer them into a Kingdom outlet and corporate expression.  In the second meeting I sought to declare things that both honored and released the pastor and released the people.  Interestingly, even though both groups had people that were not comfortable with the prophetic or the gifts they were still recognized something happened.  People came up to me later and thanked me for saying what they were feeling but did not know how to express, or could not find the words for.  Their feedback really helped me process the experience and understand this aspect of my gifting.

In summary, through these various experiences I discovered two new purposes and graces for Prophetic Feeling. Prophetic Feelers (who are functioning in their gift) may be able to:

1.  Awaken others without Feeler or Mercy gifting to the hidden internal pain and turmoil of other people. 
2. Connect and assist people in understanding their own pain and reconnect them with their own internal process, which helps reverse numbness or unhealthy detachment.
3. Experience, then navigate and address the emotions and trouble of groups or large communities to facilitate grief process and lead group into a Kingdom outlet and expression.

Remember your own gifting of Prophetic Feeling or Seeing or others may look different than mine, in how it is expressed or experienced. That is a good thing!  Thanks for coming along for the journey.
