Prophetic Feeling In the Kingdom

It has been so long since I last posted!  I kept waiting for a large chunk of time to sit down with some tea and write.  The problem is that we are in a season of acceleration and transition, that large chunks of time are hard to come by and nearly non-existent!  That being the case, I am going to try posting small blog entries and musings from my ongoing journey into the gifting of Prophetic Feeling, instead of large chunks.

One of the things I am always asking and seeking from the Father, is greater understanding of Prophetic Feeling and of Feeling in the whole realm of the human experience and the Kingdom.  I rather like to think of it as a constant google search bot, scanning the internet for more revelation on this gift and how it fits into the larger picture.  I have walked through quite a lot of intense experiences in the last weeks and months, and its gotten rather difficult to put them into words but I have come into some meaty and wonderful revelations.  All of them lead back to this wonderful Father we have. He is beyond description, faithful, kind, gentle and kind, passionately pursuing us and pursing our freedom to know him and know all that we are.

The Father gave me another glimpse into his heart and the purpose of Prophetic Feeling as a gift and experience, while I enjoyed some good coffee and watched The Flash on CW.  Yep the Father often speaks to me through all kinds of media and tv shows is one of them.  The show often has prophetic words in the script but you have to be feeling for it.  :-)  Anyway back to my point, the Father invented and created Prophetic Feeling to add to his Kingdom and to express his heart in the universe.  Its hard to put into words but as I watched the show this morning, I understood that just as their are painters and dancers, glass blowers and wood carvers, there must be Feelers. I understood Prophetic Feeling as so much more than sensing the emotions, pain or even joy from others.  Its about honoring the sacred human journeys, moments, experiences and heart cries and joyful flights.  In the wonder of the Kingdom and the spiritual realm, we write with our beings and with our lives. Our Father loves us so very much that he values everything of us, every nano-second of our lives, of our experiences and our thoughts.   Feelers have the opportunity to be amplifiers and painters of the experiences, feelings and the beyond-feeling-or-words moments.

Do you know how artists and painters see color and shades and have words to describe the nuances of how colors and shapes blend and harmonize or contrast with each other, in a way that the artistically ungifted cannot?  In the same way Prophetic Feelers have the capacity and ability to pick up, honor and respond to beautiful delicate shades within moments, experiences and interactions.  Weaving through all our lives and moments is this beautiful, nearly translucent tapestry of colorful threads and gold flecks.  Prophetic Feeling allows us to pick up on some of that, even when we do not understand it or have ways to express it.  You know the watery gaze of a loved that carries regret, love, hope and belief?  We can catch that, honor it and respond accordingly, even when the one speaking does not have words or when others do not sense it.  Honor is key in the Kingdom, it is the action born out of valuing something.  We are the Horton's that can hear the Whos embedded, beneath the surface.

Note Prophetic Feeling can have many different and diverse expressions. No one person has the exact kind of gift, experienced in exactly the same way.  Note also that a capacity for something is a potential that we have the opportunity to grow into and explore.  It's not automatic. Part of the journey of the gifting is learning to understand how your gift works with you, and how to walk in it. Lastly, although, we have the gifting capacity to be the Feeling Horton's of the world, we are not meant to be like Horton and take on, and fix all the trouble of the world.  There is one person who has taken that job and I have discovered that he is not going to be retiring or taking applications anytime soon.

Your gifting has great purpose, it honors the Father's heart when you value and cherish what He does!

  2. Elizabeth you are funny! I would never go so far as to say that, but I do like key lime pie! Learning to appreciate this gift is a huge step forward, though. :-)

    1. Hello 16e, So glad you hear that this blog was helpful to you. Sorry to hear that you are in a wilderness and been really struggling. I have been in a tough season myself. I am not in a currently in a position to mentor anyone right now. However, there is lots of help to be found in asking the Father to teach you how to function in your gifting now that you know its part of the way you were made. :-) The Father and the Holy Spirit have been the ones to teach me, and they are pretty good at it because they know the struggle that came with the gifting and what you have gone through, they know how your gifting is unique to you in how it is expressed and they know what you next need to grow and find a stable place of peace to stand. Truth is there aren't a lot of experts out there, we are are just learning this gifting that has been shoved under the rug for so many years.

I would also recommend reading the rest of the blogs, and finding my facebook profile used to under prophetic feeler and now is Anani Skye. There is other general posts and prophetic feeling posts and a community of fellow feelers trying to figure this out together. You are welcome to learn with us.

    1. Hi Julia!
You are welcome and thanks for stopping by. I appreciate you sharing potential resources. I did read the first chapter of Keepers of the Presence. I liked aspects of what the author brought out in describing how you can sense certain the presence of God or the atmosphere of a church gathering. That was pretty cool! However, I found their conclusion to be lacking. I don't know how to say it in a super nice way but suggesting that only the specially gifted sensors/feelers are keepers of the presence is quite well ..off in my view. There are so many things of the spirit realm, and of this life that are not found in scriptures-they are extrabiblical. It doesn't mean they are wrong or not entirely valuable. Then there are some things that are found in scriptures and then there are things that are directly opposite of a concept in scriptures. I find the idea that feelers are somehow special keepers of his presence quite opposite of scriptures. Paul speaks of this new mystery that we are one with Christ, that we are in him as he is in us. All believers are keepers of his presence! All are permanently united with Christ and his presence. Just my take on that. Its a warm fuzzy idea in theory but is kinda contrary of what Paul writes about. I get its difficult to nail down the purpose of the sensing gift but that can't be it in my thinking. :-)
